弗雷登市(Vreden)地处德国明斯特西部，紧邻伯克尔河(Berkel)，自然风光十分优美。本项目的概念在于加强城市的文化轴线并使用绿化对空间进行扩展。通过一条南北轴线将邻近的区域相互连接起来。宛如一条珍珠项链，大大小小的景点串联成一条线，从不同的角度演绎着伯克尔河(Berkel)的优美景色。弗雷登市(Vreden)南部的城市入口正位于这条项链的起始点。

The specialcharacter of the city Vreden comes from its scenic location in the westernMünsterland and the location next to the river Berkel. The concept works withthe idea of enhance the cultural axis of the city and extend it with greeninfrastructure. Through this an attractive connection between north and southis linking the neighbouring districts. Like a pearl necklace, bigger andsmaller attractions are put in a line and interpret the Berkel on differentways. The start to this jewel forms the city entrance South in Vreden.

Hamalandhalle周围的区域需要重新设计。原因在于Hamalandhalle作为城市的入口区域必须满足许多不同的需求。为了创造一个现代且实用的场地空间，停车区域必须纳入设计概念中。屋顶绿化和绿地模型的交互同样反映出了场地的自然特征。

The area around the Hamalandhalle hasbeen completely restructured. The main idea is that as a city entrance the areahas to combine many different requests. To create a modern but functionalspace, car parking is integrated into the concept. In the interaction with atree roof and green terrain modelings, the conceptis reflecting the natural character of the area.

作为城市入口的标志，广场的铺装创造了一个友好且轻盈的空间，将公共道路和停车区域相连接起来。与此同时，灯光照明方案也和设计概念相匹配，柔和的光线为场地增添了一种氛围感，同时避免出现昏暗、让人缺乏安全感的区域。新的城市入口将会成为一个供居民夜间安全地聚会的地方，并在未来有可能成为弗雷登市(Vreden)的新地标。

The city entrance is marked through a quiet andsmoothly covering, which creates a friendly and light plaza that is linked tothe public ways and the car parking. Even the lighting concept is balanced tothe design. The discreet lights dive the whole area into an atmosphericallymood and prevent the formation of dark, unsafe spots. The new city entranceturns into a sojourn where people can safely meet in the evening and which hasthe potential to become a new landmark of Vreden.
