Pt.

Pt. Leo Estate is located on the south-eastern tip ofVictoria’s Mornington Peninsula and hosts asculpture park showcasing a growing collection ofAustralian and international artwork commissions.Set against the backdrop of the ocean, vineyards, gardens and the open sky, this unique setting offersthe opportunity to experience art within the naturallandscape.

In collaboration with UAP, Australian artist RekoRennie was commissioned to create a site-specificwork for the Estate. Titled Mirri, Rennie’s workreferences traditional Indigenous culture in hissignature use of bold geometric patterns and vividuse of colour.

Standing at over 6.5 meters tall, the dazzlingsculpture features a contemporary representation oftraditional indigenous icons – a shield and twoboomerangs with their centre points touching. Thecolour palette of neon pink and black in geometricpatterning creates a striking contrast to thenatural surrounds, provoking discussion surroundingcontemporary indigenous culture and identity.Fabricated in laser cut aluminium sheet and finishedprecisely by hand in a 2Pak vehicle wet spray, thiswork signals UAP’s fifth successful collaborationwith the artist.
