The Benedensas is part of the West Brabant waterline. This inlet point of inundation is also part of the Atlantikwal that the Germans built for defense in World War II. A viewpoint has been placed on a German bunker that allows you to look out over the Volkerak, the Dintelse and Heense buntings, and the polders of Steenbergen.
